This is a perfect intro to blaxploitation films—full of swagger, wild fits, big laughs, and the word motherfucker said more times than Samuel L. Jackson. wait.... actually… this might be where he got it from.

I couldn’t find the pairing movie I was looking for, but this yt channel also had Disco Godfather, another highly recommended watch from this era.

As campy as it is, it actually hits harder than Dolemite in terms of story. There’s a deeper plot, message, and something real beneath the wild ass delivery and shaky camera shots. It speaks to the times it came from and honestly, it makes me wonder... like where are the fucking movies now?
